Two new spring must-reads from RE:BOOKS: Pre-order now!

This week I wrote about the torturous experience of attending your own book signing. And now, as a publisher, I’m the one forcing authors to attend them (sorry, so sorry!).

Our authors will survive, but not without your help. I’m SO excited about two new RE:Books titles being released this spring, and I’m hoping you can help support these incredible debut authors by eventually attending their book signings (it literally means the world to an author) and pre-ordering their books today. These are the reads you’ll be recommending to all of your friends, but only if you read them first. (Don’t you love being that friend? Stick with me, kid.)

You might recognize Kara Alloway from her time as a Real Housewife of Toronto, but this debut author got her start at Conde Nast. She enjoyed a fabulous career in journalism and fashion before deciding to conquer the world of literature. Enter: Most Hated, soon to be your “most loved” and hitting book stands (virtual and otherwise) May 9, 2023. Preorder Most Hated here.

DO YOU LIVE A FABULOUS GLAMOROUS LIFE? ARE YOU THE “TALK OF THE TOWN”?

In the merciless world of reality TV, three women try to change their lives, but end up with far more than they bargained for.

Zoe wants nothing more than to get ahead. She’s a producer on the hot docu-soap, Talk of the Town, and all of her time and energy is focused on making it the best show ever. The most dramatic. The most interesting. The most addictive . . . and the one poised to ruin someone’s life for ratings.

Dahlia Irvine knows two things for sure: this show’s her chance to have a career all her own and her NFL-hottie husband is totally and completely in love with her. Except when the cameras start rolling, everything she knew for sure is no longer certain. And the more she tries to fix what’s wrong, with her love and her life, the worse it gets.

On the outside Sabrina, whose nickname is the “Countess of Controversy,” had it all. Gorgeous husband. Beautiful family. A title. But when her life comes crashing down around her, her cousin Budgie convinces her to join the show. Together they’ll turn things around . . . except the pressure of the show, the pressure of her ex, and the pressure of her own expectations almost ruins her life all over again.

For the women behind and in front of the camera, The Talk of the Town, one of them will inevitably end up as the “most hated.” It’s great entertainment, but when real life blends with reality television–no one comes out unscathed.

Next on your nightstand should be Sheri Segal Glick’s The Skinny: My messy hopeful fight for full recovery from anorexia, coming June 20, 2023. Sheri has worked at the Department of Justice and the House of Commons, juggles three kids, and has been published in newspapers, magazines. Sheri’s raw and honest memoir is an important read for anyone wishing to understand the experience of anorexia on a deeper, more personal level. Preorder The Skinny here.

The Skinny challenges our beliefs about diet culture, body image and eating disorders as we follow Sheri in her fight to fully recover from anorexia with her signature wit, wry humour, and unflinching honesty.

In this powerful memoir, Sheri Segal Glick explores her rough, rocky, rutted road to being in recovery. As a young teenager, Sheri developed anorexia, and has battled the illness for decades. The Skinny explores her journey, from her tumultuous time as a teenager to the disease rearing its ugly head as an adult, with her signature wit, wry humour, and absolute honesty. Her unique story is matched by her unique style, and the memoir moves back and forth through time, through her experiences and through the moments in life where all there is to do is laugh.
